The doe Eyed beauty and our own version of new Age Helen in a rebellious avatar, Kalki Koechlin had been creating waves with her out-of-the-box movies and roles in Bollywood. While many had earlier taken her to be a foreigner making her entry into Bollywood and encashing in on the White Skin Fantasy that most of us Indians happen to share, little known to a lot of people she is actually an Indian Passport Holder and was born to French Parents in India. Her long standing marriage (Well 5 years is a long time in new Age Bollywood) with Anurag Kashyap was also deemed to be the inspiration of her roles as both husband and wife duo made significant contributions this decade towards changing the face of Indian Cinema. The Reasons for the split which started its process for Separation under Divorce around 2 years into their marriage, was confirmed to be personal temperamental differences.

Well. They still continue to be good friends the couple has been admitted saying to the Media.

Kareena Kapoor Graces the sets of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 7

Kareena Kapoor came in for a guest appearance on Sony Television's popular family segment entertainment reality show- Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. While the disclaimer of the show claims it to be a 'non-fictional' dance 'reality' television show quite amusingly, the show hit high TRPs on its last episode aired 9 PM this weekend, because of our very own Bebo- who came dressed in a White Mughal Anarkali, in line with her new Begum-of-Pataudi image she has been elegantly reveling in lately.

Even when Kareena herself was in her quintessential diva avatar with nude make-up and hair neatly tied up in a French Braid, to promote her new upcoming film Singham, opposite Ajay Devgan; the yesteryear's Diva Madhuri Dixit, who is the resident glamdoll of the television reality show, was seen passing off in what might be her biggest fashion faux pas on any Screen in all years. Dressed in a tight fitting blue floral print skirt and blouse, with matching print, paired with bright blue pumps, Madhuri Dixit Nene couldn't have chosen a less flattering dress for her Television appearances. The actress, who has been known to be dealing with the tinseltown ageing-queen syndrome ever since her return to India with her husband, might have received an irreparable jolt being paired in her worst ever wardrobe pick, against Bollywood's ruling diva in her elegant best. Ms. Nene, we think it's about time you started dressing your age. Really!

Kareena Kapoor was also seen cozying up to show contestant Sophie Choudhary, ex MTV VJ and singer, even as her buddy Karan Johar did not leave her side any time during the show. Karan was seen accompanying her to the stage everytime she left his side and being his usual over-protective friend. Good for Bebo. There were enough who were smitten by her presence on the sets of Jhalak this Season.

Gag #1: Paytm Bald Dad Recharge Ad

The new Paytm Ad is the biggest disaster in Ad gag. Not only does their attempt at being funny about the bald father come across as being tremendously insulting, even their other ads showcasing the cat’s rectum are in bad humor.

 I fail to understand who their target audience really is, for these advertisements. Anyone over the age of 18 is sure not to find any good humor in these advertisements. Does it increase brand recall though? Yes it does. But it also leaves the consumer confused- Is it a mobile power recharge product or a mobile talktime/data recharge product? The penetration of mobile payment systems is relatively low in India today, and a mass media campaign with a high-risk strategy such as this to increase brand recall, even as they might pan out into the next phase of the campaign explaining the functionality and usage of the product in a way that the average consumer can understand, may just not have been the best strategy.

Till the guys sort out their positioning and humor strategies, I am just including it in my Gag category for now, coz for now, it’s nothing more than an Ad gone horribly wrong!

Yashdeep- Gurpreet- The Priyanka angle

I wonder if anyone has noticed this recently but every time someone in the Mummy Mahal in Perfect Bride tries to pacify Yashdeep's mother and push Gurpreet into her good books, Miss-I-have-an-opinion-about-everything Priyanka Sharma maintains a policy of shush. Ever since her fall out with Rajbir and Co., her attitude towards Yash has changed and she is beginning to push herself into his mush books. She has, thus, cleverly been avoiding any participation in the talks regarding Gurpreet and the hitler mother and often changes the topic to make her seem like the damsel-in-distress.

That has been her strategy since the beginning apparently as the prospective bride had decided to cry in her introduction video itself during the launch of the show in the first episode trying to attract sympathy for the fact that she was an orphan. Well, looks like it is working too Priyanka.

Perfect Bride Opinion- Yashdeep's mother

Prospective groom Yashdeep's mother has branded herself as one of the most hated mothers after Gaurav's mother, on the matrimony based reality television series 'Perfect Bride'. Her quite frequent altercations with her son's love interest on the show, Gurpreet, has been raising the TRPs of the show on one side and decreasing her popularity with audiences on the other. While the channel guys are busy flaring up the controversy further by involving various parties and making sure 'providence' makes them have their tete-a-tete often, many people, who were previously not interested in the show have been coming to me to obtain background information on their rift. Well, I say to all, the mother made a few statements regarding the unsuitability of Gurpreet in the initial stages of the show and as the classic tendency goes, she has now got to defend her point of view. Thus, her attitude, which had started off as being a mere judgement of unsuitability has now been converted into an attitude of bitterness towards the girl.

The girl and the boy, however, are adorable and are probably two of the only candidates on the show who are not calculating their moves and are truly in teenage love. In my opinion, the love that the two of them share is very endearing. The mess in the mother's head, however, has become too complicated to be sorted out easily.

In the midst of all this drama, of course, the lady has clearly set the grounds for her ousting from the show. If Priyanka were to go by the logic that she used last time, Yash is the apt choice for the elimination. However, her growing fondness of the man is sure to be factored into the shots this time too.

Why Yashdeep's mother doesn't like Gurpreet

The latest episode of Perfect Bride witnessed quite a riot created by the mother of prospective groom Yashdeep over the suitability of Gurpreet to be her Bahu. The point in focus was her profession. While the show has not yet revealed the profession of Gurpreet on formal or informal stage, we give the insider details on the bride-to-be. Gurpreet is associated with the film industry. She works as an Assistant Director with Yash Raj films. Her creativity and bubbliness is, thus, a prerequisite to her chosen career and Yashdeep's mom doesn't seem to like the idea of anyone from the filmdom becoming her bahu. As for Pooja, another contestant on the show, she too belongs to the film world. While Gurpreet is still behind the cameras, Pooja is a punjabi actress. This fact too, however, has not yet been thrown open to the public. While Nandita's profession is being widely perused as a significant aspect of her candidature, Pooja's and Gurpreet's are being kept under the wraps. Could the show producers throw some light on this bigotry?
